Clipboard

English (en)

Clipboard
The clipboard is a buffer that some
operating systems provide for short-
term storage and transfer within and
between application programs.
A clipboard allows the temporary
holding of data that the user wants
to copy from one place to another.
In a word processor application, for
example, the user might want to copy
or cut text from one part of a
document and paste it in another part
of the document or somewhere else.
