Spam messages often come in the 
form of harmless (though annoying) 
promotional emails. But sometimes 
spam is a fraudulent or malicious 
scam. 

While the definition of spam is 
any unsolicited message sent in 
bulk, spamming is the act of 
sending these messages. And the 
person who sends the messages is 
a spammer.
